Luke Yankee is an internationally recognized speaker, lecturer and host. He has lectured about Broadway and Hollywood on over 30 cruises all over the world for Holland America, Oceania, Crystal Cruises, Royal Caribbean, Princess, Ponant and Celebrity Cruise Lines. He has also been a speaker for many corporate events, civic organizations and not-for-profit companies, including Broadway Cares, Mattel, The Hollywood Women’s Club, the Westport Country Playhouse and the World of Women organization, and the LAX Airport Volunteers Society, to name a few.
As a host, he created the series Conversations on Craft, where he interviewed well-known actors, directors, writers and producers, including multiple Emmy winners Edward Asner (The Mary Tyler Moore Show), Michael Learned (The Waltons), David Lee (creator of Frasier), Marc Cherry (creator of Desperate Housewives), and Oscar nominated director Mark Rydell (The Rose and On Golden Pond). The proceeds from each of these live interviews benefitted the charity of the guest’s choice, including Autism Speaks, The Entertainment Community Fund and The American Cancer Society, among others.
For ten years, he co-hosted the William Inge Theatre Festival Awards ceremony, presenting lifetime achievement awards to such esteemed playwrights, composers and lyricists as Stephen Sondheim, David Henry Hwang, Neil Simon, Marsha Norman, Sheldon Harnick, Tina Howe, A.R. Gurney, and Kander & Ebb.
At colleges and universities, he has been a guest lecturer at Ohio State, Northwestern, University of California - Irvine, Denison, Chapman University, AMDA, California State University – Fullerton, and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.
His unique blend of storytelling, humanity and humor make him a sought-after speaker and host with many return engagements.
Luke has been an invited guest and featured performer on more than 25 different cruises worldwide, giving lectures and performing his show Diva Dish for thousands of guests.
