Luke Yankee has taught and guest directed all over the country and abroad. For the past six years, he has served as the Head of Playwriting at California State University – Fullerton, where he has been an adjunct faculty member for the past eight years. During his tenure at Fullerton, he has also taught script analysis, theatre criticism, drama into film, theatre history, oral interpretation, introduction to theatre, and has guest directed several productions. He also served on the faculty at Chapman University for five years, teaching musical theatre performance and all levels of playwriting.
Luke has also taught extensively at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts and AMDA on both coasts and spent four summers on the faculty of the National High School Institute at Northwestern University. He also spent three years teaching summer courses at University of California – Irvine, including period acting styles, acting for the camera,and the business of show business. Other guest lecturing and guest directing credits include Ohio State University, Columbia College, Denison, the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, Saddleback College, El Camino College, and the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen, Germany. He holds a BA in Literature and Performance from New York University and an MFA in Writing for the Performing Arts from the University of California, Riverside.
