Luke Yankee is a critically acclaimed playwright. His latest play, Marilyn, Mom & Me is the recipient of the Stanley Award, given for excellence in playwriting. The world premiere production at International City Theatre in Long Beach broke box office records and received eight Stage Scene LA Awards. His play, The Last Lifeboat is published by Dramatists Play Service and has received more than 75 productions in the U.S. and Canada. His award-winning comedy, The Jesus Hickey (published by Amazon) premiered in Los Angeles starring Harry Hamlin and is the winner of the TRU Voices Award, and the Joel and Phyllis Ehrlich Award, given for “a socially relevant, commercially viable new work of theatre.”
The Man Who Killed The Cure was a semifinalist for the Eugene O’Neill National Playwrights Festival and is published by Amazon. It has had several regional productions. Confessions of a Star Maker (presented last year at The Annenberg Theatre in Palm Springs) won Best Play at the Moondance Writers Contest and was chosen for the Last Frontier Theatre Festival. A Place at Forest Lawn (also published by Dramatists Play Service) has been performed at several regional theatres and has had workshop presentations on both coasts with Betty White, Tony Goldwyn, Marcia Cross, Marian Seldes, Frances Sternhagen and Steven Culp. Luke is currently the Head of Playwriting at the University of California, Fullerton where he teaches classes in playwriting, script analysis and theatre criticism.
